• When I make changes to my site, such as changing themes, or most anything else, either it takes a long time [ 10 minutes or more] to show up on the site, or it never does.

I changed from Catch Evolution [theme] to Expressions. Expressions shows as my active theme in WP-admin, but checking the live site, I get the now deactive theme – nothing changes. I “published” the change, and I changed a page and updated that – just to get the update button active, but the live site just doesn’t change.

Can I be missing the obvious somewhere?

  • Hey there

Sounds like aggressive caching, possibly server side from your host or a cache plugin installed on your site. Heck, it could even be a CDN or Cloudflare if you have one of those set up. Either way, try purging your cache in any and all these places. Since the changes do take affect eventually, this is likely the culprit.

I’ve cleared the cache on my computers numerous times – to no avail.
I wouldn’t have the foggiest idea how to do anything server-side.
I do not have any cache plugins active.

CDN, Cloudflare? Don’t know what they are; so I doubt I have anything like that installed.

It’s a real handicap knowing as little about this as I do.

    Hey there

I would think that it is your web host that has some server side caching. I suggest contacting them to inquire about this.
