    Hello,

    is there a way to set the plugin up to crawl the German speaking results? Apparently the plugin is not translatable, at least Loco Translate doesn’t find anything, but it looks strange to have English results on a German webseite.

    @marianhaertel I recommend setting the review language to German with the following parameter included in Shortcode:

    [reviews_rating review_word="Bewertungen"]

    If you’re using HTML Import, please ensure your language is set to German and your browser’s language is also set to German keeping the “Original review text” when running this procedure.

    I am awaiting approval of a full translation into German. Once this is live, it will improve the usability for you and other German speakers.

    Do you have a URL that you can share to illustrate your issue?

    @marianhaertel Just checking in to see if this has resolved the matter for you? I recommend resetting the plugin if you have translated English reviews when you’re actually looking for German reviews (i.e. the original, untranslated text).

    If you want to have the “Powered by Google” SVG image in German, please get in touch and I can provide a replacement in CSS for you.

    Sorry for the belated reply. Changing the shortcode didn’t make the trick

    The plugin is English (I guess I cannot change it), but it pull the english speaking reviews even though my browser language is German.

    Hi,

    checking “Dummy Data” and then unchecking it, seems to have pulled it again and now there are German one. Still not really the one I would love to see, but I guess this is the limitation of Google showing what they think is relevant ??

    @marianhaertel Thanks for supplying the URL. I can now see what you’re referring to in your question.

    1. Please add the following parameter to your Shortcode: [reviews_rating more="Weiterlesen" review_word="Bewertungen"] ;
    2. I don’t think you’ve set the Retrieval Language to German. Please ensure this is set so the Places API knows to prefer German reviews over English reviews;
    3. If you haven’t done this, please ensure the WordPress installation is set to German rather than English – this will affect the relative times that are currently showing in English;
    4. Once you’ve set the language to German, I recommend either resetting the plugin to force new reviews and data (note down any Settings customizations beforehand because these will be lost) – and then populate your catalogue using HTML Import using the German language version of reviews (set German in your browser and within Google);
    5. Optionally, you can change the date format (using a shortcode parameter) to use actual dates rather than the relative descriptive text. This will appear in German if set in your WordPress installation.

    I hope this helps get things properly set to German for you! ??

    @marianhaertel Just a couple more points that will help you in this specific instance:

    1. Please use the Narrow theme to fit the space you have in your layout;
    2. I think you changed the Retrieval language after the initial collection… so if you want the correct relative date text, please give it time to switch to German (it will the refresh words over time) or you can reset the plugin (please note down your settings such as API Key and Place ID, etc.)
