Pull in content from most recent post

  • Hi all,

    I am building a fantasy football website and wanted to be able to display the results of each weeks competition as a part of the home page.

    I would like set up a post for each week of the competition and have it set to “draft” then once I have inputted the information for that week, publish the page so it is visible to everyone.

    I would then like to pull the content of the NEWEST post into the homepage in the location I want.

    I have used a plugin before called RPS Include Content https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/rps-include-content/ which word great, but it works by pulling the content of a specific post by the post ID. I would like to automate this a bit more by having the most recent post pulled in, instead of having to go and continually change the post ID to pull in the right content.

    Does anyone know if there is a plugin that will has this king of functionality? I have searched around but can’t find anything that is quite right.
