Pull Pages from 2.8.1 into 3.1

  • Hello,

    I need to pull some Pages from an older version of WordPress (2.8.1) into 3.1.

    I don’t want all the pages and posts, just a few (children of certain pages).

    What’s the best way to do this? I’m not very familiar with 2.8.1. Does it have some sort of export that can be used by WordPress, or would I be better off writing some script to parse them directly out of the database? Or better yet, is there an existing one?

  • There is an export tool in 2.8.1 but it doesn’t allow you to select individual pages/posts for export.

    It’s XML, right? Which means I should be able to pull out the ones I don’t want… hopefully?
