I am using it as a widget, although I would prefer to embed. Don’t know how.

But for some reason this s-ware is pulling in a random video from my site as part of the series. It is showing it first. How do I get rid of that?

I only have one episode created and that is the only episode listed under ALL EPISODES. I also created a series of which that random video is not a part of.

How do I get it to not show up in the feed without deleting it completely? I still need it for other locations on my site that has nothing to do with the podcast.

    Thanks.

@hollywoodonlocation thanks for getting in touch.

When you say the software is “pulling in a random video from my site as part of the series” do you mean under the AUTHOR UNCUT PODCAST widget. I see at the moment it’s showing the “2 Minute Video: How to Subscribe” item and the “Welcome Authors, Screenwriters & Book Lovers!” item, and I’m assuming you don’t want the “2 Minute Video: How to Subscribe” to show?

Can you tell me two things a) what content type is the video (Post, Page, some other type) and b) what are the items checked on your Postcast -> Settings -> General Settings page, under Podcast post types.

    Thanks

    Thanks for your reply.

    1. Yes, the 2 minute video should not be pulled in.
    2. Video is mp4
    3. Video is under Media and is showing on an older POST from 2017.
    4. Under General Settings: I have these checked: posts, oembed responses

Never mind. I have removed the widget. But if you figure it out, let me know.
    Thanks.

Now, that video is also showing as a POST. So it is a real problem I need help with.

    Thanks.

@hollywoodonlocation the reason that video is being listed as a podcast, is because you have selected to include posts as Podcast post types, under Postcast -> Settings -> General Settings. If you don’t intend to include posts as podcasts, simply un-check posts under Podcast post types and your posts will not be included.

Thanks, Jonathan. I thought that setting allowed for automatic posts to be triggered once RSS feed detects new episode.

    Thanks for clarification.

No problem, glad we got it sorted for you.

Hi, I thought it was solved by unchecking the “Posts” Under General > Podcast Post Types, as per your suggestion. But now, a new post is not created with the release of new episodes. I had a new episode release today and no post created.

If I redo “import feed” then I’ll have duplicate episodes pulled in.

    How do I fix this?

    Hi @hollywoodonlocation

a new post is not created with the release of new episodes

Can you explain to me what you mean by this.

Are you released podcast episodes separately from your WordPress site?

    (@hollywoodonlocation)

I use Anchor to release my episodes. SSP pulls in from that feed.

    Ah, I see ok thanks.

In order to better assist you with figuring this out, could I ask you to send an email to our internal support channel at [email protected]. It seems that we might need to dig a little deeper into your setup to figure this out.

    Thanks
