Purchase event fires twice – in order-pay and order-received page

    Purchase event fires twice – once in order-pay page (not the right page) and second on order-received page (the right page) which causes double purchase value and count on Facebook campaign data.

    When the plugin is off the problem doesn’t happen.

    Will appreciate help in fixing that.

    How is the order-pay page generated? I assume a payment plugin, right?

    Does the event fire on a page with url containing the word “order” and if i would change the name of the pay page instead of “order-pay” to “pay-page” would it help?

    1. What payment plugin do you use?

    2. Changing the name will most likely not help, we use WooCommerce hooks/filters to capture transactions.

    This plugin is not available on WordPress anymore, this is what I get on their page:

    This plugin has been closed as of March 24, 2023 and is not available for download. Reason: Guideline Violation.

    So we are not able to do a quick test. It’s best you contact us on our website so you can send me the plugin files and some more information about your environment.

    Not sure it’s safe to use a payment plugin that was removed for violations, but it’s your call.

    its my payment company, they are alright I don’t what’s the specific problem with the plugin but its my plugin for 3 years and everything is alright.

    Yes, the purchase fires twice because this plugin creates an intermediary page that simulates the order confirmation page behaviour before the payment is processed. Once we can actually check how the plugin works, we might find a solution.

    Finally Facebook decided to agree with me ??

    order-pay is the wrong page

    order-received is the right page

    the question is how I can fix it from sending wrong purchase event from the order-pay page
