Just purchased the Premium version and got the download email just fine. But I do have a question on installing the premium version, as I already have the Free Version installed.

The Free Version in the WP plugins directory uses a folder named: supra-csv-parser

The Premium Version (after extracting from the zip file) has the folder named as: supraCsvPremium

    So a few questions…

Do I copy and upload the NEW folder (supraCsvPremium) into the WP plugin directory and then activate it? But what about the older Free Version directory? There is no help on installation in the Premium Version of the README for installing the Premium version if the Free version is already installed…

Or… Do I just copy over the contents of the Premium Version (all files and directories UNDER the “supraCsvPremium” folder) to replace the Free Version of the files, etc.?

My concern is the folder naming differences of the plugin that goes in WP plugins (between Free and Premium version). And do I lose all previously configured plugin setup options set while using Free and will have to re-create/re-do with the Premium version?

Waiting for your response, as I’m not sure how to install the Premium version…

    Thanks!

    Chris

You may get better results contacting the commercial plugin author directly.

The commercial product is not supported in these forums.

When you purchased that commercial product instructions should have been included. Contact the plugin author directly, I am sure they’ll help out their customer.

    Thanks for the info, Jan.

I realize that WP is pretty stringent on the forums for what can or should be posted, etc., but I do know that the plugin author feeds their website with postings here on their free plugin version.

While it may be a grey area, and I don’t mind treading lightly, any info or questions presented here will benefit others who come across the same issue or have similar questions.

That said, I just took the easy route of posting here because it was easy and familiar to me. No harm or violation intended.

I prefer you using the support forum and thanks for using. As of now you simply unzip the contents into the plugins directory just like every other manual installation with wordpress plugins.

It’s a fine line and you need to tread carefully. These forums are not for the comercial version of your plugin. See this (lengthy!) discussion regarding this topic.

What to do with commercial plugin/theme topics?

If you are going to charge users for a commercial version of your software then you really need to support that version somewhere else and not here.

NOTE: I fully support and want opensource GPL compatible software providers and I am not going to close this topic. But please do tread carefully: if you begin to support the commercial version here then you’ll get a tap on the shoulder about not doing that.

Thanks I myself am a proponent of open source software hence the reason for being here however I would also like an occasional cup of coffee in the process and the donate button was not doing the trick. In any case thanks for the clarification and I will be sure to nudge people to a premium plugin support area on my website.
