    Hi,

After clicking Purge All Caches the page refreshes with the ‘All caches successfully emptied’ message. However it is then followed by the ‘One or more plugins have been activated or deactivated, please…’ message. I don’t remember W3 Total Cache doing this. I thought it just returned the ‘All caches successfully emptied’ message.

Also, I’m not convinced that all caches have been purged because I am not seeing any changes I’ve made to either the wp-single.php file I’ve amended, or any changes to layout. I am checking in a number of browsers in Incognito mode and they’re all returning the same, old layout.

How can I ensure that all caches have been purged?

    Thanks.

    Hello @demonboy

    Thank youj for reaching out.
When the cache is purged you should get the “All caches successfully emptied.”
the other message you are seeing may be shown if some other plugin is auto-updated or similar but I can confirm that all caches are purged.
As for your other question, If you have to minify enabled and you changed the CSS for example the minified CSS remains name remains the same. This means that the browser will not fetch the new CSS as it already has the file cached.
What you can do is to enable the option “Prevent caching of objects after settings change” in Performance>Browser Cache. This will add the query string to the files for example ?xNNNNN All you need to do after that is to click on the Update Media Query string button at the top of the Perfoprmance>Browser Cache, save all settings and purge the cache and the new version of the file will be fetched by the Browser.
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks!
