Purpose of attach to pages in media library

    Hello,

    Minor query

    What is the purpose of the attach option in the media library.
    Is it simply a quick way to bring up page where image is.

    I’m not sure which version my site uses as a web developer created my site for me. I’m trying to familiarise myself with all it’s functions so I can do all further developments myself.

    The site was started Februry this year (2011).I have not upgraged to 3.1.3 yet.

  • The attachment is used internally by WordPress to identify which images belongs to which Page/Post gallery.
