Hi, that is indeed for our stats. Are you still seeing it after disabling stats and clearing any cache on your site?

I cleared all caches (Wordfence) but it still appears among the loaded resources of the developer tools. I tried now on Dashboard > Updates in a browser that I had never used before for this site.

I also noticed now that there are several more GIFs, for example: https://pixel.wp.com/boom.gif?v=0.9&u=https://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub&json={%22beacons%22:[%22pinghub.restproxy.ws_supported.firefox:1|c%22]} All together 10 requests.

Got it. I’ve done some digging for you & checked in with our developers.

First, there’s a gif for tracking stats.

We also have other stats for WooCommerce store owners who use Jetpack with the app:
    https://jetpack.com/support/woocommerce-analytics/

And, we have analytics in place:
    https://jetpack.com/support/privacy/#analytics

These help us figure what features people are actually using, so we can better understand what needs to be improved or where to spend our development time.

Given all that, if you disable those features and you’re still seeing gifs, could you send a link to the site so we can investigate further?

Thank you! WooCommerce is not installed. I have Akismet installed, but deactivating it doesn’t make a difference.

The list of active Jetpack modules is:

    Beautiful Math
    Contact Form
    Custom CSS
    Enhanced Distribution
    Extra Sidebar Widgets
    Gravatar Hovercards
    JSON API
    Monitor
    Notifications

I’m not seeing any of our .gifs on that page — are you seeing them still?

    Thread Starter Christoph

    (@camthor)

They appear only in the admin area. I too cannot see them on the public front end.

    Hi Chris,

Those tracking pixels are related to the admin bar and the websocket connection for notifications in the admin bar. There’s no way to turn those off.

    (@camthor)

    Ah, that’s unfortunate.

    Thank you for the information!
