Put “Being Checked” Orders on hold

    Hey all,

    I hope someone can help me with a pretty unfortunate problem. Basically yesterday someone bought something on my page but PayPal put that payment on hold with the reason “the payment needs to be checked and will be released in 24h”.
    As I sell digital goods my system sent the customer his product as woocommerce kinda got the “paid” status from Paypal even tho the payment is still under investigation. To my regret, the payment has been rejected today morning which led to an automatic “refund” for the customer.
    Is there like anything I can do to change in my system that it will auto-complete “normal/paid” order but put orders which are being investigated on “on hold” until the investigation is done?

    Hi there,

    Generally, with orders via PayPal, the order should stay in Pending payment status until there is notification from PayPal that the payment was successful.

    Please send over a screenshot of that order where this occurred, including the Order Notes section on the right side (you can censor the customer name/address/etc). I recommend https://snipboard.io for easily sharing screenshots – please follow the instructions on the page, then paste the URL in your reply here.

    Please also share a copy of your site’s System Status. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, you can paste it here in your reply.
