• Not sure which version – uploaded today (Oct 4)

I have been doing the same thing for the last 10 sites I have set up and that is using the HTML tab to insert links into the post – four links in total – two hidden, two clickable.

This worked fine, just a simple copy and paste to save time.

Today with this new version of WP (don’t like the new HTML font or bold) I do what I have done previously, and when I have finished in the HTML side I switch back to the Visual to continue and BINGO between the two clickable links no more post! Disappeared.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks Mike FD

  • You mentioned hidden links, presumably commented out.

This offers no solution, but might be similar to what you’re experiencing.

Don’t switch editing tabs. Pick one tab and then stick to it.

hey thanks for your input, but being an “end user” i.e. non-tech, if I could do it before what has changed?

Both the hidden and clickable affiliate) links contain link and anchor text plus formatting instructions.

The hidden links work fine, but the clickables stuff it up. The only difference between the clickable links and the hidden links is the former contain format codes for red colour and bold?

I have heard about sticking to one tab, but how can I insert an HTML string that includes a link, into the link icon in the Visual tab?

I mean using the visual link tab tou can’t conceal the link and I want red for the clickable link not blue – also I prefer to have the clickable affiliate link as “no follow”

Sorry long winded – but any thoughts,

    Thanks,

    Mike FD

Just one clue – it is deleting all text between the two clickable links so only the second clickable link remains visible?

I don’t want to appear to be spamming the joint but by a bumbling process of copying other HTML elsewhere I have figured it out – thanks for your willingness to help
