Putting code together

It’s probably something quite obvious but I have only managed to show posts by category but cannot add date, full excerpt etc. Have tried putting all code in one bracket separated by a space e.g

[catlist name=”news” date=yes excerpt=yes]

And separately as three codes with their own brackets.

Help me out please!
