• Hi everyone.

Iv set up an ecommerce website using wordpress and flatsome themes.
I will be uploading around 2000 images in the next few days and im wanting to organise these into files so it will be easier for me to look up in the future.

Is this possible to do as iv googled it and had a look for answers but i cannot find any.

Any good free plugins for this if wordpress doesnt already allow it.

    Thanks

    Mark

  • Maybe posting your question in Plugins and Hacks might be better as I’m not aware of a plugin that can upload that many images at once.

The built in images drag and drop function within the media library is pretty fast already (and of course, depending on where you are and the speed of your Internet connection).

WordPress doesn’t organise images into folders by default. It can be done with some plugins, but you’ll need to find one that suits what you need.

One thing to remember is that when you upload images to the page/post/product/etc, WordPress assigns that image to that post/page/etc, so you’ll always be able to see what images are set for the page that you’re on.

Thanks for the response. You make a good point catacaustic. I think ill just leave it as it is for now and if i need to amend it in the future ill try find a plugin.

WordPress does organize the images in folders based on dates. But that won’t be very useful if you upload all the images at once.

Within Dashboard > Settings > Media, you can uncheck:

Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders under Uploading Files

If you’ve already found a solution, I’ll be interested to know how you’ve resolved it.

    Thanks! ??
