Putting Youtube Video Links in Short Description Product Field?

    Hi, I would like to add Youtube videos to my short description field. I notice that when I paste the link into the visual editor, only the URL shows up on the published product. But, if I past the Youtube video’s URL into the description field, instead of the short description field, the video loads without a problem.

    Is there any way to get around this issue?

    Note: I could embed the video into my short description, but this causes my site to yield many cast_sender.js errors, and slows down my site massively.

  • You can use the virtue toolkit shortcode for a youtube video and add it to the short description. There are other plugins too that add shortcodes for adding videos.

    I don’t believe WordPress’s auto embed doesn’t happen in excerpt boxes which is what the short description is for products.

    Ok, that seems to have solved my problem. Thanks so much! I never used the toolkit plugin before, but it looks like it’s an excellent fix for Youtube videos.
