I have the Super PWA plugin installed. Everything seems to be working except that when using the PWA on my phone, the app gets a 404 page not found error. I have the home page configured correctly & no matter what I do, it always gets the error. Any ideas what could be causing this?

  • Hello @markscott65,

Good day and thanks for using our plugin Super Progressive Web Apps.

I tested the same upon my Android device and noticed that all the features of PWA like Add to Home screen prompt, Splash screen, Home screen icon, Caching of Start URL and Offline caching works perfectly. Here’s a small video FYR.

Can you please let me know whether you have tested it upon Android or iOS device? Also have you cleared the browsing data before testing? Whether you noticed the 404 error during Offline Navigation?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks Jose! I was testing on my Android phone. I have tested on another device & it is indeed working. Sorry for the false alarm, I am not sure what was going with my phone, but yes, it must have been caching something incorrectly initially.

Thanks @markscott65 for the confirmation and glad to know that PWA worked upon your another device.

May be it’s due to the caching within your Chrome browser, can you please clear the browsing data upon your device (which is not working)?

Here’s the steps to clear the browsing data by tapping the browser menu on Google Chrome > Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data > Select Advanced tab > from that select options like Browsing history, Cookies and site data, Cached images and files, Site settings and tap Clear Data.

    Hope it will help.
