Both the horrible timing and the very ordinary product makes me question what on earth is happening at Automattic and has me actually looking for alternatives for the first time in 10 years.
Who is this for? Not me, who builds and runs sites and has recommended WordPress for 10 years +
Not for the small publishers who write for fun. It best case it didn’t break anything and just added time to making posts. In worst case it broke their site.
Not for the theme and plugin developers – this doesn’t solve any problems for them.
I don’t understand what is happening internally or why WordPress has decided to say screw you to their users, but I can only assume their is some financial considerations I am not privy to.
But from a long time users who has 100’s of maintenance customers, I no longer have faith in Matt M in regards to my business.
