Q&A Lite won't allow anyone not logged in to ask questions, why?

    I was wondering if anyone could help me? I am using the ‘Q&A Lite’ Plug-in and want to allow customers (whether subscribed or not) to be able to ask questions that i then answer.

    Each time i log out and try to ask a question (to test it) it tells me i need to log-in to ask a question. I have been on the settings and changed them to allow customers to ask questions, but still nothing.

    I would really appreciate some help on this topic and i look forward to hearing back from you

    When you refer to ‘customer’ is that a person that has a user role in WordPress?

    The Q&A plugin (both premium and lite versions) require you to have a role, and thus sign in, in order to post a question or answer. The premium version does allow a person to post ‘anonymously’ by simply creating a username after the question has been written up.

    This works very similarly to the way other Q&A sites operate which also requires some sort of login.

    So in order for users to ask questions, will it be enough to have them as subscribers? Would this then let them ask questions?

    Yes. They need to have a WordPress role assigned to them.

    You can make it easy for folks to register for your site by going to Settings>General and checking the box next to membership so that anyone can register.

    Then, you’ll need to provide folks a way to signup either by linking them to youdomain.com/wp-login.php?action=register or by using a plugin/theme that provides a login form on your site.

    If you give new users a role of ‘subscriber’ you’ll need to then make sure that the subscriber role has the ability to post questions/answers from the settings page under Questions.

    Hi there,
    I am also facing two problem with this plugin

    1) When I had installed Q&A Lite for giving answers, then it is disturbing my whole display. Most of the things are overlapping on each other.

    2) Search is not working. Whenever we try to search it gives me offset error and nothing is being displayed.

    Could anyone please tell me know, is there any alternative free plugin for Q&A Lite, in which we can give reply and rate the question or answers.

    We’ve been adding some updates to the premium version of this over on WPMU DEV. They are due to be included in the ‘lite’ version here next week. Sorry for the delay, but this issue will be fixed up in the next version.
