Qn: Regarding trackbacks and pingbacks

  • Right, I’m using wordpress 2.0.

    Is trackback and pingbacks a way to show that someone is linking to one of your post or pages? I don’t really get how it works though. So, if someone is linking to a blog post or page, there will be a “pingback” on the comments there, is it right?

    To get it working, we must check the “Allow link notifications from other Weblogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)” right? then “attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting.)”? so we have to check that as well?
