qTranslate "disabled" notice in wp-admin "edit page" site javascript error

In qTranslate, there is a notice in wp-admin which informs the editor of a version incompatibility between WP and the plugin.
This notice banner can be dismissed. Or it could, if that were working correctly:
Clicking on “clicking here” removes one of the two boxes for me (why are there two of them, initially, anyway?). The other one remains present and repeatedly clicking the link then duplicates the page heading input:
Reproducable error, using qT 2.5.39.
