• Hi,

My client has asked me to add a second language, Welsh, to a currently English site.

I have chose qTranslate to implement this language.

I looked through the available languages and Welsh (cy) isn’t there.

    Steps so far:

Succesfully installed and activated qTranslate by FTP uploading the unzipped folder.

Went to: Settings > Languages > Add Language
    – I have found a suitable flag (I had to replace the cy.png as it didn’t look like the welsh dragon, it was just white with some yellow.
    – Language code is ‘cy’
    – Name is ‘Welsh’
    – Locale -this confused me but I did find this. I don’t know how to download this content however!

When clicking ‘Add Language’, I get the message:
Could not write to “/home/adammench/public/xperiorfarmhealth.co.uk/test/wp-content/languages”, Gettext Databases could not be downloaded!

Now this is clearly trying to access my local wordpress install. However I am working on a remote wp installation. My site is working fine, in the WP Database I have, as usual, changed the site_url and home to be in line with the URL.
Where can I alter this reference to the local plugin folder? Can anyone offer a link to a guide on setting up qTranslate, specifically adding new languages? Is there a quick fix to adding Welsh support?

    Thanks
    Adam
