Hi, I have a quite big problem. After having created a theme child (I am using the Convertible theme) the language switcher doesn’t work anymore. The site is in italian and english, but now it shows only the english versione https://www.site.com/en/).

Before doing it it worked perfectly. Now I tried to reload the original theme but still it doesn’t work.

I also tried to re-install qTranslate X and Woocommerce&qTranslate X plugins but the problem is still there. It seems that the function

    <?php echo qtranxf_generateLanguageSelectCode(‘text’); ?>

    does not work properly anymore.

any help? I am in a mess as the site is almost finished and should be put online

    Thank you!

I think that is not necessary, overwrite all old files with the new.

Before first deactive the previous qTranslate.

Choose then Reset qTranslate under Settings Languages

It still has the same problems. The switcher absolutely doesn’t work. But there’s more.

the site is https://www.andreinabrengola.com and should be in italian as default language.

If I type in the address bar the domain, it loads automatically the following: https://www.andreinabrenogola.com/en/

I i type https://www.andreinabrengola.com/dove it shows the deafult page in Italian. Then I use the swicther and it works giving the page https://www.andreinabrengola.com/en/dove
At this point it stucks again and does not move from the english version. It seems that the english version overcomes everything!

Type to your site gives the default language = correct

https://www.andreinabrengola.com/ = gives the default language = correct

    Type
https://www.andreinabrengola.com/dove/ still default language = correct

Clear cache and cookies to access the site clean.

How are your cookie settings – Settings Languages ?

After that I login to see what I can do right?

Yes you are right. I cleaned all the cache and now it seems to work.

strangely although I cleaned the cache before (either in my browser either with W3 Total Cache) it didn’t do anything. I had to clean the browser cache completely after quitting the program

    Thanks

    The switcher absolutely doesn’t work.

Is this still true? If so, I want to look.

But can you, temporarily, turn of the coming soon page?

Well now it seems to work. I used it and it was ok. After few minutes I was in the admin panel (i re-activated in the meanwhile the plugin wwocommerce & qTranslate X) it did not work anymore. I purged from cache the whole thing and started again. Rather annoying anyway.

I am going to take off the coming soon page, so that you can give a look

    Thanks
