When composing a new post, there was a quality indicator at the top – in the admin bar. It was a green icon if you were doing well and red if you were not.

I quite liked it. It led to me writing to a formula that works and gets indexed in a reasonable amount of time. I’ve pretty much nailed the formula at this point, but the icon at the top is pretty handy.

I can still scroll down to see if I’m ‘in the green’, but the icon at the top has done a runner and gone missing. I didn’t directly change any settings that I know of – and I can’t find a setting to re-enable said feature.

    Hello @uninvolved,

Thanks for using our plugin. Could you be referring to the admin bar? Please navigate to WordPrress > Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Site Features > Tools and ensure to toggle the button ON to enable Admin bar menu

Sorry about the slow response, but I’ve been pretty busy.

That’s the option! It was enabled… It has always been enabled…

However, it’s enabled. I tried turning it off and back on again. I dunno what happened, but it’s broken on my site. I hadn’t touched Yoast’s settings in months and months. It just works, until now.

    And, of course:

So, it doesn’t show up and it is (and was) always enabled. I tried disabling it and turning it back on, which just seemed like the thing to do.

No, there are no errors visible to me. There are no errors in my logs.

I’m sorry about your experience. Often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty-Two.

Please test this on your development or staging site if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

Thanks for your suggestions. I’ve been exceedingly busy as of late. I’ll give that plugin a try to see if it helps.

It’s not a major problem. I write well enough to keep it in the green more often than not. Plus, all the salient information is available below the editor. It’s not a crisis situation.

Again, thanks for the ideas. I’ll run though the troubleshooter at least, probably early this week. This is definitely a back-burner issue.
