queries problem with MX4 Theme

After switching to 2.0 my site has slowed down considerably. Actually there is an unnervin increase in sql queries from roughly 100 to now 26921, which produces an unnerving 7 seconds of load time of my start page. – Grateful for help as to how I could bring back the speed…
