Query Loop’s excerpt links and formatting

  • It appears the query loop’s excerpt block strips all formatting and links, even manually entered excerpts with html. From these forums I learned the post content block can use a post’s read more block and keep formatting and links; however, I prefer the excerpt block way, so I’m curious if I’m overlooking a setting or if there’s some code I can change to stop the stripping of links.

    One step forward, one step back. WordPress 6.4 fixed it so going to the next page (i.e., pagination) didn’t reload the page; however, it only works with excerpt and not the content block in a query.

    The content block was the only way to have an excerpt in a query loop with formatting and links; the excerpt block removes all. Unfortunately, 6.4 has to reload the entire page when using the content block.

    Anyone know how to get some formatting and links in an excerpt? Is there code to avoid the striping?
