• I’ve been following Kafkaesqui’s solution on this forum topic:

    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/57912?replies=9#post-312858

…but it only seems to work when I have the default permalinks selected in the admin tool. Choosing one of the custom permalinks options somehow causes the ‘next/previous’ tag to switch back to the ‘show number of posts’ that I’ve set in my admin tool. I.E., say I have ten posts selected to show. The ‘next/previous’ tag on the homepage throws a 404, unless there are 10 posts in the blog. However, it only works in increments of 10 thereafter. So I need 20 posts to navigate through 2 posts, and then I get another 404. (Confusing, I know.)

I’ve confirmed that my .htaccess is rewriting properly.

Should the fix in Kafkaesqui’s comments on that support forum topic work regardless of permalink structure?

I should add — my goal is to show just one post on the homepage, but allow archive pages to show 10 posts.

Thanks! Unfortunately it didn’t work for me, although that’s a great plugin.

Just wondering if anyone out there has used that query_post with custom permalinks?

    I have the exact problem!

I’m using the posts_nav_link on my homepage but I only want 1 post to appear. I had to take the query_pages out of the index.php file to get the posts_nav_link to work but now I’m stuck with multiple posts on the homepage. anyone know a work around?
