Hello. Thanks for your wonderful plugin!

Please tell more specifically if I can delete all webp images created by the plugin. I want to free up disk space, but I don’t want to delete images via FTP because some web images were uploaded by me manually and they were not created by the plugin. I want to clean only the images that are created by the plugin.

    Best wishes and blessings,
    Alexander Angelov.

    Hi Alexander,

Glad you’re liking it! There is an option (button) in the Tools menu for EWWW to remove the WebP images generated by the plugin.

Can you tell me if this is the button I should click? Also, what exactly will happen when I click on it?

Yes, that is the correct button.
When that runs, there are two phases:
    1. goes through every image EWWW IO has optimized and looks for images with .webp appended.
    2. it goes through the media library and checks every image for duplicates with .webp appended.

A .webp is only removed if it was appended with the .webp extension, which would be the case with the items generated by EWWW. That having been said, it’s a good idea to make sure you have a backup to be safe.
