Question about “1-Click Install”

  • I’m totally new to WordPress, and so I thought I’d go the easy route and get a host (server? still learning the lingo) that has the 1-click installation: Media Temple. I can figure out how to go through the 1-click installation but then… nothin’. It takes me to a clean, white page. Do I need to do the full FTP transfer stuff if I’m doing the 1-click installation? Do I need to bookmark something I’m not bookmarking? Thoroughly confused.

    (Just bought the “WordPress for Dummies” book, which thoroughly embarrasses me since I consider myself to be good at computer stuff, but, hey.)

  • If you are using the 1-click installation provided by the host you should receive a email that has a link to your WordPress install page. If not there is a possibility that the 1-click installation did not work.

    Try to contact Media Temple if the 1-click install worked. I’m sure they will help you with that.
