    Hi,

I just have a question about autoplay. I know that normally the iPad doesn’t support autoplay, but when I first installed your plugin, I thought it had autoplay enabled and the videos played when viewed. I also have an audio plugin that had autoplay enabled which worked because it played an .mp3 on my home page. I tried contacting the developer of my audio plugin, but he has not been available.

The autoplay feature for either video or audio is no longer working. I thought maybe you could explain why it worked previously but no longer. I don’t understand if the Ipad doesn’t support autoplay, how is it that the plugin was able to override that? I updated my iPad browswer to ios 6, and I thought maybe that did it, but my other iPad which still runs on ios 5 no longer supports it either.

I only noticed this on the iPad. All the other browsers are fine.
I guess Apple just doesn’t want us to have autoplay, which I hate.

    Thanks,
    Laura

    Laura,

Officially, this has never been supported on cellular networks, and only sometimes works on wifi. In my experience, it is random and finicky. Some sites work, some don’t, and only on some of my iDevices. I haven’t been able to narrow down a solution that always works (some workarounds have worked in the past, but don’t anymore). I’d say it’s best to not rely on autoplay to ever work in iOS.

    Dustin
