    Hello!

Quick question – if I export my products, edit the prices in Excel and then import them back, does everything stay the same (single product pages, IDs, etc.) except the database?

Is there a chance it would mess up my products?

    Kind regards

  • Hello,

Definitely, this is possible, you can export your products, keep this file as a backup. Then you can edit the prices according to your pricing rules, finally import the file back into your site.

You can find an explanation of this process here.

I hope this helps. Let us know if there are any questions.

    Hi @ihereira !

I didn’t think I’d have a problem with this, but here we go. When I export the products, every single thing is in the same column. I followed the link you provided, exported all products and their ID, SKU, Name, Sale price and Regular price.

When I open the file in Excel, everything is in the same column.

Here you can see the picture.

    Kind regards

    Hi again,

I checked out this issue on Google, and I see that there are problems with Excel in general. I tried to open it on my Google Drive and it works fine.

    Kind regards

    Hi @jazzu

    Thank you for the update.

When I open the file in Excel, everything is in the same column

That is odd. I wasn’t able to replicate the behavior on my end – my downloaded CSV opened normally in Excel. The link to the image you attached isn’t working.

Anyways, it is great that you’re able to see it in Google Drive. You can edit the CSV there itself.

You could also try some alternatives of Excel listed in this article: https://www.guru99.com/excel-alternatives-free.html

    I hope this helps!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this thread as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.
