Hi! I have the NinjaFirewall installed and it logged an entry where a machine in the Russian Federation was allowed to upload a file named “wp-root.php” to my WordPress site somewhere. I looked in the “uploads” directory and couldn’t find the file. Any ideas on how I can find out where the file was uploaded?

    Thanks!

It will probable be somewhere in your WordPress directory.

Remain calm and carefully follow this guide. When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

Thanks for the reply! Here is where my post went. ?? I posted it elsewhere and couldn’t find it later on to update it.

This turned out to be a false alarm and all is well. I’ve made some NinjaFirewall changes to help better protect against what I thought was a successful hacking attempt. I’ve already scanned the site, looked through a number of WordPress folders, and contacted the NinjaFirewall author. It turns out others have experienced this same kind of issue and based on what I’ve read, I consider my experience to be a false alarm.

    Thanks again!
