Question about listing categories in the sidebar

  • Hi guys,

    In the sidebar of my site i’m trying to list the categories. These categories have sub categories and even sub-sub categories in some cases. What i would like to do is list these with a depth of 1 (ie. only show the top category) apart from the term who’s category archive page is currently being displayed, in which case i would like to list the child categories.

    For example, if i had 2 categories; music and sport, with music having 2 sub categories of ‘artists’ and ‘genres’, and sport having 2 sub categories named ‘football’ and ‘golf’, i would like the sidebar to look like the following when on the category archive page for sport.

    Sport
    -football
    -golf
    Music

    And look like the following when on the category archive page for music;

    Sport
    Music
    -artists
    -genres

    Does anyone know how this is possible?? Thanks.
