Question about Moderating
-
To the www.ads-software.com moderation team – I’ve been having trouble with a topic I’m trying to get help on being closed by moderators who keep referring to either it duplicating a completely unrelated, (and very old and closed topic), as as being the reason for them being closed down, or referring me to a sub-forum that’s completely dead and abandoned by the plugin devs with help requests having gone unanswered for over 6 months now so that I know full well I can’t get any help for my problem there.
I have no way to communicate with the moderation team to find a way to solve this impasse and get help, or ask for a moderated topic to be re-evaluated if I feel the topic was locked for an unjust reason.
I have a job to do and having to battle with moderators who I feel are being over-zealous in this matter is not helping. Based on the reasons being given for the topics being closed I can only assume they are not reading the full post before making judgements, which is getting very frustrating as that’s stopping me from getting help and fixing a problem for a client, or at least knowing what to advise my client on how to proceed with is website.
My understanding is these forums are supposed to be a community where WordPress developers and users can come together to help each other use and benefit from WordPress.
While I do appreciate the hard work the moderation team does to keep the community focused on that goal, there needs to be a way to deal with issues like I’m having that does not involve shutting down a conversation repeatedly and denying access to help, and a system for dealing with issues where a member feels they are being moderated unfairly.
I would like to know how we can make sure we all understand where each other is coming from and can have a way of dealing with issues where there’s a misunderstanding between a member and the moderation team without having to air our dirty laundry in public.
