    I have someone who demands that the Schedule ID be non-numeric so that they know what it means. Instead of using 1, 2, 3, 4, they want to use SC, VB, BB to represent the sport so they know which schedule is which. I don’t know if this is related, but every time we save the game, after a couple minutes, it clears all of the data we just saved and makes it all the default values. I have been racking my brain to try and figure out why our games keep erasing themselves! The only thing I can think of is that the Schedule ID must be a number and if it isn’t, then the code forces the default value.

    If I’m wrong, then do you have any idea why my games would be defaulting after saving?

    The more I look, the more I think that it has nothing to do with the ID being letters. It doesn’t always delete the data either. Sometimes, it stays, but other times it all clears. Still working on this.

    Hi Barry,
    Thanks for writing about this. You are correct, the data issue has nothing to do with the ID, which can be alphanumeric.

    As for the data loss issue itself, much has been written about it in these forums on my website. To date, I have not been able to repeat this problem consistently so I have not been able to fix it. Several users have written with speculation about why it happens, the most promising idea seems to be around having the admin pages and front end open on multiple browser windows/tabs. But again, I do that all the time and have only seen it once or twice in my development environment. It seems to occur much more frequently with Team Rosters than with any of the others.

    So if you manage to repeat it, please let me know. I’d LOVE to get it fixed.
