question about sidebar

    If I want to add info in my sidebars, in the same section where my categories and archives are, do i do this thru the plugins I have downloaded or continue researching and doing it another way?

    Just wanted to ask before I tried to continue, still learning, but am moving forward slowly but surely.

  • You have two sidebars, so one is probably called left_sidebar.php and one is called right_sidebar, or sidebar1 and sidebar2. [Not sure without seeing the theme files.]

    These will be in your theme directory and can be changed manually by adjusting the code. Some plugins are called via the sidebars, but not all.

    I would recommend you try and find the sidebars in your theme directory and so something really simple, like add a line of text to each. You can then start to add code as you learn more and more.

    Just keep coming back here when you need more help or advice.

    Great! I did it.
    Thanks for the help.

    In all of my reading though I have found that CSS is the coding I should follow and not HTML. Is this a preference thing or is one newer and what everyone follows, or what is the deal with all of that?

    I figured since I am teaching myself all of this, and having a lot of fun I should say, and getting info from all of you guys, I would continue with the most updated and not stuff noone uses.
