Question about tweet count

Hi,
This plugin seems quite recent, but i decided to try it, pretty simple to use and it’s what i wanted (only thing that’s missing is custom post types support imo, but shortcode or snippet will do allright)
My question is when i activated the plugin on the beta test, one article has 1 instead of 0 for the tweet count, and i just wanted to ask you if the count is retrieved from twitter itself or stored in the database? (the article has been used to test the autoposting to twitter, but the tweet was deleted right after).
It is rather a rhetorical question than a problem, but i already had problems with social network counting with other plugins, so i want to spare potential problems.Kaddath
