Why would you not just want to update the plugins through your admin panel?

because every time I try and update through the website, I get an error and I can’t change my ftp information because it’s greyed out. How do I make it ungreyed?I don’t have ftp I use SFTP using a special key

Where is it greyed out at? Your FTP info shouldn’t be stored in your wordpress admin.

Do it through FTP….
Download the older version as a backup, and then try uploading the new version through FTP Client!

I don’t know how to do it with ftp. When I use my program it only connects using SFTP.
