Question about URL alias on WordPress multi-sites

You would only get that if your install is actual in the /blogs/ folder.

And if it was, adding a second network would still have that foldername in the URL.

So if you’re not getting /blogs/ off the main domain, you won’t need the second domain.

Andrea – I originally looked at WP Multi Network but couldn’t get it to work with WP 3.1.1. I recall coming across info that it wouldn’t work, and when I followed the installation instructions for the plugin, menu choices that should have appeared weren’t appearing for me.

Is it compatibile?

As far as I know it is. Nothing relating to multiple networks changed in that minor of a version.

The network menu item changed location in 3.1. Even if it;s not in the right place, technically it should still work.

The plugin page says it is compatible up to 3.0, not 3.1. I wasn’t drawing the distinction at 3.1.1, just 3.0 vs 3.1.

Combine reading that post + seeing the ‘compat with’ + my hands-on experience of it appearing not to work -> reasonable conclusion that it might not work, hence the request for clarification.

Makes me want to go set up a new network and see what made me think it didn’t appear to work…

If your plugin allows multiple networks, and I’ve already set things up with the MU Domain Mapping, is it tough to switch? I tend to favor long-term relationships with my plugins, but I find myself becoming more open-minded…

If you wanted to switch to a multi-network situation *any* plugin out there requires you to redo it or manually fiddle with the database, if you already created it and mapped it.

(and not finding it as in missing it)

Let me put your wondering to rest. You might have been wrong before, but not here. I need to either make an appointment with the eye doctor or get a bigger monitor.
