Question: does Yoast SEO submit the sitemap upon activating?

XML sitemaps are activated by default when installing Yoast SEO. But what I would like to know is, does it also automatically submit the sitemap to Google (even when search engines not allowed), or does it only submit when you add/edit your first post or page?
