Question on “Best Practices” when using Members Plugin

    Greetings,

    Let’s say I use the Members plugin to add a custom role (or clone a role, etc.). Once that role is setup, can I deactivate (and/or delete) the Members plugin without losing the custom role or does Members need to always be activated for this role to be in effect.

    So, if just using Members in the way described above, what are best practices? Leave enabled? Deactivate?

    Hi Preston,

    Sorry for a bit slow response to your question.

    All roles settings are stored in the WordPress options called wp_users_roles in wp_options table in the database, so even though you delete Members plugin you should still keep all roles settings.
