Question on database backups and subdomains ecommerce site.

  • Hi there, sure could use some help.

    I have created an Ecommerce site with many products. the customer now wants subdomains for salespeople with different prices.

    When I copy the database and put it on the subdomain al the items are there, however the links all go back to the original site, quite confusing.

    What do I need to do to avoid this.

  • That’s because the permalink for those products is still set to the main site. Use a plugin like: WP Migrate DB that lets you pull your database and run a find and replace on it at the same time so that’s ready to go for import.
