Question on Insert Media –> Media Library –> Search

  • As I’m uploading images for blog posts, I am adding things like alternate text as such to the images. However, when I went to find an image I had previously uploaded, I discovered that when I do a search while in the Insert Media –> Media Library mode, searches are seemingly limited to what the actual file name of the uploaded file is, not based on any other information added to the image file’s entry.

    So, are searches limited to file names or is there something I’m doing wrong so that searches would look at other fields for an uploaded image?

    If searches are only done by file name, is there a good plugin to add the additional search elements that I want?
