    Hi Folks!

One of my clients has a site that is roughly 865MB in size plus about a 125MB database, and I’m using Duplicator Free, not Pro. To allow the archive creation process to complete successfully, in php.ini I’ve had to increase max_execution_time for this site to a very large number (I don’t even want to mention it here). Until now, this hasn’t posed a problem. However I now want to install WordFence, and they say there are known issues with that plugin if max_execution_time is more than 60.

Does anyone know if there is any way to allow a larger value for Duplicator but 60 for everything else? In case it makes a difference, this machine is running Windows Server 2016 with IIS 10.

    Thanks!

    Scott

    Hi @scotthco,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Can you please follow the Two part install method to migrate your website?https://duplicator.com/knowledge-base/two-part-install/

The Two part install method is to migrate the website database using Duplicator Pro and the website files manually.

This will let you create the database only using Duplicator Pro which will take less time compared to the full backup. At the same time, this will guarantee successful migration.

Please give the Two part install a try and let me know if you have any questions.

I’m looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been using Duplicator for quite some time, so I actually do know that I could do a 2 part install. However I was hoping to find another work around since not everyone is in a position to archive their site files separately. Besides, isn’t a 2 part install more-or-less the same as doing a database-only backup, or is there a substantial difference?

    Thanks again.

    Hi?@scotthco,

I agree that the most important point in the two-part install is the database-only backup. Migrating the database is complex in WordPress website migration.

However, the migration won’t be complete without transferring the website files from the source website to the destination website.

I also recommend switching to PHP code to save the allocated memory to your website during the backup creation.

Go to Duplicator > Settings > Packages, and choose “PHP Code” for the SQL Mode setting

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks!
