“For NGG version 2.x, you need to add the tag to the /nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_basic_gallery/templates/thumbnails/index.php template. This will only work for galleries inserted WITHOUT selectiong a template from the gallery display options.”

So, if I were to go pro and wish to use “NextGEN Pro Filmbox Galleries” would the voting plugin still work?

    Thanks!

    Hi sandstar

I don’t have access to the Pro upgrade at the moment, but voting will work as long as you have access to the image ID.
You will just need to add the voting tag to the correct pro template, and everything should work fine.

Thanks. I understand I need to add the voting tag, but I do not know where to add it in the pro template. Do you have any further suggestion?

As I said before, I don’t have access to pro, so I don’t know the file structure.
Perhaps it would be best to ask the NGG devs for the location of the template for the settings you are using.

I have asked them and they do not know. Has anyone else successfully integrated nextgen pro and the voting plugin?

Hey, I see you’ve updated it to work with the free version of next gen, that’s awesome! I hope you are able to get around to instructions on the pro version too, as at this point they don’t have any info. Hope you’re having a great holiday season!

    Hi again sandstar

The update gets ‘gallery’ voting functions working again with NGG v2. Showing the voting on the pro template should be as simple as finding the correct file NGG uses for that template selecting.

If you want, you can send me FTP and admin access to shaunalberts AT gmail DOT com, and I can see if I can figure out the template your settings are using.

Thank you! I will! And I will send a donation too. Thanks again for being so prompt and helpful.

This has unfortunately not yet been resolved.

Has any one else had issues with integrating the voting plugin with next gen pro? I am trying to use one of the pro templates, and have placed the tag correctly, but it is still not working. Does anyone know how to make this work with ANY of the pro templates? I need the pro functionality because I need surfers to be able to comment on the individual photos as well. Ideally I would be using NextGEN Pro Filmbox Galleries, but I’ve also given up on getting this to work ideally.

Suggestions for developers who could make this work are also welcome.

    Thanks!

Has ANYONE gotten this to work?

At this point I will gladly pay someone to make it work.

Is there any combination that anyone could suggest that would allow both individual images within a nextgen gallery to be voted on and commented on?

Maybe there’s a completely different plugin that actually works?

    Thanks for fixing it Shaun.

The issues were with how I integrated the new nextgen pro template with the voting plugin. Turns out that next gen pro was what is slowing down the site load time. next gen pro says they’re working on it fixing this.
