    Hi,
I have started using Custom Sidebars and it works great!

My requirement is such that I need to have a different sidebar for each post. Mine is a new website so till now everything works fine since there are very few posts/pages. I wanted to know what would happen when I have hundreds of posts down the line? Will so many custom sidebar slow my URL? My widget section to will be full of custom sidebars. Can I arrange the sidebar list in chronological order in ‘Widget’ section, instead of the current alphabetical order?

    Please guide me.
    Thanks.

  • Hello @ckadmin, I trust you are doing well today!

Will so many custom sidebar slow my URL?

If I understand you correctly, you wish to load one sidebar on each post, right? Then it should not affect your site performance.
Or you wish to load more than one? Naturally, the more content you have on a page, it affects the loading speed of a site.

So if you, for example, will add at one page one sidebar and at another same page 10 sidebars, the load speed between pages will be different. The page with more sidebars will be loading for some milliseconds longer.

You can always install the P3 Performance plugin to measure the performance of the plugins that running on your site.

Also cache plugin will help your site to load faster.

Can I arrange the sidebar list in chronological order in ‘Widget’ section, instead of the current alphabetical order?

This is not possible out of the box to achieve with the Custom Sidebars plugin. It’s possible to do by modifying the plugin’s core files or writing a mu-plugin.

    I hope this will help.

    Cheers,
    Nastia
