    Hello,

Just wondering why if you have a static home page selected does it force you to translate it into all selected langues?

We where mainly looking to use the plugin to just translate some of a sites content for now, with the possibility of translating the whole site later.

It just seemed odd to force it on users as it assumes they need to when it seem like it should just be more their choose and responsibility.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello,

You have the choice. Either you decide to display the posts on the homepage or you decide to have a static front page. With Polylang this decision must be the same for all languages, because otherwise WordPress is lost. We had many support questions related to this when we did not force this decision for all languages.

    OK, that make sense.

I guess it is more odd because if you have a static page set but no translation for that static front page and add the language switcher link to the menu with the “Hides languages with no translation” it still appears and links to a non static home page.

    Thanks for the reply

does this apply also if the different languages are in different domains?
