I am currently weighing my options for finding a host for my blog. I currently have a wordpress.com blog. I found one host that I’m kind of interested in, but I’m concerned that that for the plans that they offer with 5GB Bandwidth and 50GB Bandwidth might not be enough. Honestly I have no idea because I don’t have a lot of knowledge or expertise when it comes to that. So I am wandering if 5GB or 50GB Bandwidth is enough for a blog?

I do not know about bandwidth for numbers of visitors, but I have learned to check CPU-Usage limits (ceilings). I once switched to a new host that had blazingly-fast servers and did not seem concerned about bandwidth, but then found all my sites being throttled continually while bumping into the 10%-of-two-cores CPU ceiling.

5GB of bandwidth will get most average sites through every month. 50GB a month is pretty huge. If your site is doing that, then you’re doing very well!

As an example, a couple of sites that I run us between 20 and 30 GB every month, but those are the most popular sites that we are hosting, and they get a lot of traffic.

The best thing to do is try the 5GB package and see how you go. You’ll soon see if you need to upgrade or not. Only upgrade when you need to though. There’s no point in paying extra for something that you don’t need at this stage.
