Questions About Polylang Flexibility, Migration, and Bulk Uploading**
-
Hi Polylang Team,
I’m currently exploring Polylang as a potential replacement for TranslatePress, and I have a few key considerations and questions:
- Manual Translations for the Same Word in Different Contexts: With TranslatePress, we currently translate each string manually. For example, the word “Hello” might be translated as “Ola” in one place, but we may want to translate it as “Buenas Dias” in another context. Does Polylang allow for this kind of flexibility, where the same word can be translated differently based on location or context?
- Migration from TranslatePress: We are currently using TranslatePress on our site and are curious if switching to Polylang could cause any issues with our existing pages, blogs, and translations. Is there a smooth way to transfer everything without damaging any existing content?
- Tedious Uploading of Translations: In our current setup, we find the process of uploading translations string by string to be very tedious, as you can see from the feedback we’ve discussed (attached screenshot for context). Does Polylang support bulk uploading of translations in a more efficient and streamlined way?
Any insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated as we evaluate Polylang as a potential solution for our multilingual website needs.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Endrit
