Hi everyone I have a VPS with my Wordpres site, the VPS is 1GB/1 Core from Digital Ocean. On the site I have 18,000 images approximately and many are large in dimensions. Already all the images are in WebP (only WebP). I want to resize all the images to 1024×768. These are my doubts:

A- What about the images I already have on the server in 640×480? Will the plugin ignore them?

B- Will 18.000 images take too many hours? Can I select from less to less?

    Thanks

Hi, if the images are smaller than the size you want to resize they will be ignored.
For the time it depends on the server, but 18,000 images should take you less than an hour. Once you start the resize after a few minutes the estimated time is shown. You can still stop and resume execution at a later time.

Always remember to make a backup first.

Let me know the execution time.

Ok I will make the backup and I will do it in a schedule with low visits. Do you think it will consume 100% of the CPU and during that time the site will be inaccessible?

Obviously it depends on the server, but in my opinion, it will remain accessible because the resize calls, are to groups of images in ajax so the load should be balanced with the other calls from the server. Maybe the site will slow down a little bit, but I don’t expect anything serious.
