Quick and sweet… does what it says it does!
-
I haven’t noticed any ill effects on my site, and it doesn’t seem to impact my still amazing site speed and ux rating… no reason at all to leave your generic 404 error page and broken links. Use this to serve a nice page to your users and also to log and correct links which are creating the 404 errors.
Despite what some people say, people who know, know that you do indeed want to use 301’s when serving up a new page for errors… for several reasons. Here’s MOZ’s take on it: https://moz.com/learn/seo/http-status-codes
In the end, this plug in works for me and creates no conflicts, bloat or anything other than what I expected. Thanks guys, great plugin!
